Wow, it's been awhile - Life Lately

Welp, 2nd kid really put a snag into my blogging time. I got an email from Square Space saying my domain was going to be renewed which led me down a path of should I forgo this little blog or keep it? I did a quick look back on my past posts and decided I do love going down memory lane and hopefully one day when Rhynder can read, it will be fun for her to read all my old blog posts. Definitely keeping.

It's quite fitting that my last blog post was Behr's birth story and he is now turning ONE this week. Time definitely is going by faster and faster and I'm just trying to keep up.

Rhynder. This almost 6-year-old keeps us on our toes everyday. She asks all the questions, demands explanations on everything we do, loves a good deal, and never breaks a pinky promise. We definitely have hard times, but we always remind her (and ourselves): we love her even when she's upset (or hits us in the face 😝).

Behr. This fast little "chicky nuggy" (as Rhy affectionately calls him) is ON THE MOVE. Once he started crawling, it was game over. Up and down stairs, down the hallways, going from room to room. I can't imagine when he starts walking. But he has been the most perfect addition to our loud family.

Rhynder sometimes says "I miss when it was just us three". She will cry and reminisce about those days while actively ignoring her brother. I understand this. I miss those days too sometimes. I let her feel that feeling (without any shame), express it and then it passes. The next day she's back to being the best big sister laughing and playing with baby bro. This relationship is one I am intentionally trying to cultivate into a healthy, loving long lasting bond.

Grace. Grecia (hard to pronounce for English speakers, so we call her Grace) joined our family in Jan 2025. She moved in during the dead of winter but brought her warm, loving energy into our home. She has helped our family function as I navigated going back to work and we would be lost without her. Behr lights up whenever she walks into the room and Rhynder loves learning how to say curse words in Spanish.

To be honest, not sure the next time I will blog but I'll be back whenever the mood strikes me (or when I have a quick burst of energy + 30 extra minutes at the same time - rarely happens).

oxox,
JJ
